As a Customer Verification Agent, you play a key role in building trust and keeping our platform safe. You’ll review customer documents, validate identities, and ensure every user meets compliance and regulatory requirements before fully accessing Payless services. Your accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to secure onboarding help us maintain a safe ecosystem while giving customers a smooth and friendly start to their Payless journey.

Job Description

● Review and validate customer identification documents such as ID cards, passports, photos, and any required supporting documents.

● Verify that documents are authentic, accurate, unaltered, and compliant with internal and regulatory KYC requirements.

● Ensure customer information is correctly captured, matched, and recorded in the system.

● Conduct face-match checks between submitted photos and ID images to confirm identity.

● Flag suspicious documents, mismatched details, or indicators of fraud for further review or escalation.

● Maintain strict adherence to data privacy, AML, and KYC compliance standards.

● Complete verification tasks within set turnaround times while ensuring accuracy and quality.

● Communicate with Customer Support Teams when additional documents, clarifications, or re-submissions are required.

● Document all verification outcomes clearly and ensure proper audit trails are maintained.

● Escalate complex, high-risk, or unclear cases to the Compliance or Risk Team as per escalation guidelines.

● Assist in identifying verification trends, recurring issues, and potential improvements in KYC processes.

● Support periodic reviews or re-verification exercises for existing customers where required.

Qualifications

● Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Criminology, Forensics, or a related field.

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in KYC, identity verification, compliance, or a similar role (preferred).

● Strong attention to detail and ability to identify document inconsistencies or fraud risks.

● Experience with digital KYC platforms (Smile Identity, YouVerify, Checkr, Metamap etc.) is an advantage.

● Familiarity with KYC/AML regulations and digital onboarding processes.

● Good analytical, decision-making, and documentation skills.

● Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

● Proficiency in using verification tools, CRM systems, and digital document platforms.

● Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with customer support and compliance teams.
